China Shipowners Association (CSA) is a trade organization composed of owners, operators and managers of merchant ships (and enterprises and unites related to shipping affair), who are registered in the PRC on the voluntary basis, engaging in water transport. It is registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC and has obtained legal corporate body status in compliance with Regulations on the Registration and Management of Social Organizations. It has 186 members operating merchant ships of about 58 million deadweight metric tons. Its administrative body is the Secretariat, under which 8 professional committees and 2 branches have been affiliated. It was chosen through public appraisal as "the advanced national civil organization" in December 2004 by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC, and its party branch was chosen through public appraisal as "the advanced party branch of social organizations of the general branch of the social organizations" in May 2005 by the Ministry of Transport.

The Hong Kong Shipowners Association was incorporated in 1957 by 11 local shipowners with the purpose of creating a forum for shipowners resident in Hong Kong. Over the past 52 years the Association has grown into one of the worldĄŻs largest Shipowner Associations, its members controlling and managing a fleet with a combined carrying capacity of about 93 million deadweight tonnes. The AssociationĄŻs chief purpose is to promote and protect the interests of the Hong Kong domiciled shipowners and shipmanagers as well as the increasing number of local professions and services upon whom they rely in the performance of their business.
Korea Shipowners Assocation is a nation-wide organization of owners and operators of the vessels engaged in the ocean transportation on the basis of free activities. The KSA is striving to promote a fair and free activity in shipping and to contribute toward the sound development of Korean shipping industry. To obtain this object, the KSA conducts research and survey of shipping trends, maintains close contact with related shipping organizations at home and abroad and acts as an advisory organization to the Government Authorities on the ocean shipping policies. And KSA sets up and manages the marine safety institute for prevention of marine pollution and accident, and makes much effort for safe voyage of Korean Vessel such as policy proposal for the improvement of sailor supply and demand, construction of labor and management cooperation system, and formation of industrial and academic cooperation base. The KSA, founded on June 20, 1960 as a nonprofit corporation, is proud of its history and its various activities covering all matters of the nationĄŻs ocean-going shipping industry on the private level.

I.S.R.A stands for International Ship Recycling Association.
The initiative to found I.S.R.A. was the responsibility of Tom Peter Blankestijn (public affairs Maersk Management) and Bernard Veldhoven (Dutch Environmental Lawyer) and has led to the formal incorporation of the association by the founding fathers on 22nd October 2007 in The Hague The Netherlands.
One of the main objectives is to expand the association with members from all over the world including the Indian subcontinent on the condition that all members meet in a level playing field the same standards for sustainable ship recycling and meet the certification requirements I.S.R.A has developed for its members. Candidate members can join I.S.R.A if they are willing to stipulate upgrading their yards to the I.S.R.A. standard within a period of one to two years and to commit themselves to the necessary investments.
